| In this page on there are a few photos giving information about my early model flying. |

In the foreground is myself with my late Uncle Sam, who brought me my first control line plane from Canada in 1976. While I remember my father (far right in picture) seemed to have had the most fun with this present, I was certainly smitten by model flying.
Also in the picture is Robin (2nd from the right) who I bought my first radio controlled model from.

This is the Ivory Gull glider made by Keil Kraft that I got on New Years Day 1982. This was my first real taste of radio control model flying. My father and I spent many evenings during the summer of '82 gliding this down shallow sloping fields. While it was good fun, we both knew a engine powered plane would be the next step.

This was my first powered model was called an Apprentice 60. It was made from Cardboard, and it took the most of the winter of 1982-83 to build. To me the build time seemed like an eternity, but during the following summer, all the effort and the time seemed worthwhile as I learned to fly it.
Since the first model (which is no longer in a photographic state), I have built and flown a number of models. Some more successfully than others, but below is couple that I really enjoyed building and flying.

Combining both Model Flying and Microlighting is not difficult, and while I don't get time to do as much model flying as I used to do, I still enjoy model flying just as much. Currently I am building a model called a limbo dancer, which I hope to have flying in the spring of 2000.

Over the years that I have been model flying a club has developed at the site, and above is a picture of the most famous landmark on the site. The site is flat and the only height obstacle on it is the tree above. However despite this practically all of the members have at some stage fallen victim to the trees ability to attract models to land in it especially in the higher branches.
