This page contains images and information about the 2002 Annual Flyin Event

On the 21st September the Annual Flyin and Barbeque took place. Since the first event back in 1986 this annual event has been held on the site during the month of September. This years event was lucky enough to fall on one of the best days of the summer weather wise.

Here are a few photos of the event.

The event drew modellers, and pilots from all over Ireland and they were joined by many interested spectators, both local to the flying site and much further afield.

As the picture below shows at very few times from 10:30am to 8:00pm were the skies empty of any activity.
A selection of just some of the pilots who flew in from all over Ireland
Throughout the day the snack area was very busy, and those who used the barbeque to cook their food, had at times difficulty finding a space.
Above are some of the steam enthusiasts that again gave a demonstration of some fantastic model engineering projects.
The model flying continued from 10:30am to 8:00pm with the exception of 2 main slots where visiting full size aircraft arrived and departed. Below are a few photos of some of the modellers and their machines.
A special starting area kept models who had their engines started away from the crowd.
